Math Maze Update

Seems the study I mentionned in the below post about math learning involved college students – and did indeed find that these kids had difficulty applying concepts learned via concrete versus abstract examples. I’m not sure if younger children would show the same pattern but I’m looking into related research….and wondering about all the hands on, manipulatives my first-graders been doing in math class.
